TRAVELLER DETAILS

​

It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that all details are 100% correct. Most airlines & travel suppliers do not allow any changes after documents have been issued. Any fees or penalties imposed due to correction of customer details will be fully for the customer's account

PASSPORT & TRAVEL DOCUMENTS

​

It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that all travellers' passports are valid for at least 6 months after the return date of the travel period, and there are at least 2 blank pages open next to one another. Most countries require machine-readable passports and do not accept temporary passports. Compliance with the immigration authorities of each country that is being visited is fully customers responsibility

TRAVELLING WITH CHILDREN

All children travelling internationally into or out of the Republic of South Africa require unabridged birth certificates* in addition to their passports
* An "Unabridged Birth Certificate" contains the full particulars of both parents

VISAS

​

Most destinations require a visa for entry / transit for South African passport holders
It is the customer's full responsibility to check the visa and entry requirements for all countries that are being visited, including transit or stopovers along the way.

JACK TRAVEL and its associates do not accept responsibility for any consequences whatsoever due to me failing to ensure that I comply with the necessary health, passport and visa requirements of the countries I visit regardless of transits, stop overs or my final destination.

I have obtained the relevant information pertaining to visas for my travels and will process my own visa applications where applicable. JACK TRAVEL and its associates cannot be held liable for any costs incurred due to date changes or cancellations in respect of the travel bookings I have made, where the visas are not ready / processed / are declined by the relevant travel authorities.

Most visas require a minimum of 14 working days to be processed. Any delays are completely beyond JACK TRAVEL & its associates' control. Australian, Canadian, New Zealand and British visas can take up to 30-45 working days to be issued.

GENERAL TERMS & CONDITIONS

AGENCY & THIRD PARTY SUPPLIERS
JACK TRAVEL & its associates act as an agent for,  and sells various travel related products as agent on behalf of numerous transport, accommodation and other service providers such as visa suppliers, airlines, coach, rail and cruise line operators, as well as all wholesalers. JACK TRAVEL & its associates’s obligation to the Customer is to make travel bookings as the agent on the Customer’s behalf and to arrange relevant contracts between the Customer and Suppliers.

JACK TRAVEL & its associates charge a fair and reasonable service fee to book travel on the Customer’s behalf.

JACK TRAVEL & its associates exercise care in the selection of reputable Suppliers, but has no control over, or liability for, the services provided by Suppliers. All enquiries and business conducted with Suppliers are subject to the Supplier’s terms and conditions. The Customer by signing or electronically accepting the Terms & Conditions is deemed to have read, understood and agreed to be bound by these Terms and Conditions which refer to Supplier terms & conditions. Any misapprehension about the transaction or the implications thereof should be brought to the attention of the Supplier. The Customer should request clarity on any misapprehension.

Any legal rights which the Customer might have in connection with the provision of travel services are against the specific Supplier and, are not against JACK TRAVEL & its associates.

PAYMENT:
JACK TRAVEL & its associates will not proceed with any booking until payment reflects in the relevant bank account. The customer will be liable for any increase in price due to commercial conditions during the time it takes for the funds to reflect in JACK TRAVEL & its associates's account. Should the services or product no longer be available in the time it takes for the funds to reflect in our account, all funds received will be refunded to the customer.
JACK TRAVEL & its associates accepts the following methods of payment:
• Cash;
• Credit and / or debit cards (Visa, Mastercard or American Express);
• Secure Online payment by credit card;
• Electronic fund transfer (EFT) into the JACK TRAVEL bank account (details available on request).

• Card acquiring and security

Card transactions will be acquired for JACK TRAVEL via PayGate (Pty) Ltd who are the approved payment gateway for all South African Acquiring Banks. Payfast uses the strictest form of encryption, namely Secure Socket Layer 3 (SSL3) and no Card details are stored on the website. Users may go to www.paygate.co.za to view their security certificate and security policy.

• Customer details separate from card details

Customer details will be stored by JACK TRAVEL separately from card details which are entered by the client on Payfast’s secure site. For more detail on Payfast refer to www.payfast.co.za.

• Merchant Outlet country and transaction currency

The merchant outlet country at the time of presenting payment options to the cardholder is South Africa. Transaction currency is South African Rand (ZAR).

• Responsibility

JACK TRAVEL takes responsibility for all aspects relating to the transaction including sale of goods and services sold on this website, customer service and support, dispute resolution and delivery of goods.

PRICE , AVAILABILITY & REFUNDS:
All prices are quoted in South African Rand.
The following commercial conditions shall apply to quotations and supply of services and product:
• Price variation:
If the rate(s) of exchange (“ROE”) are applicable, the ROE on the day of quotation will apply. Should the ROE increase at the date of payment reflecting in JACK TRAVEL & its associates's account, such increase will be for the customer’s account and payable in addition to the total price quoted.
• General:
All quotations are subject to availability from third party suppliers. Should the product range no longer be available, another product will be quoted at an updated price.

• Refunds:

The provision of services by JACK TRAVEL is subject to availability. In cases of unavailability, JACK TRAVEL will refund the client in full within 14 days. Cancellation of confirmed & issued bookings by the client will attract a R500 administration fee in addition to any cancellation fees charged by 3rd party suppliers (such as airline, transport, accommodation and other service providers).

TRAVEL INSURANCE

​

Travel insurance is strongly recommended for all international travel. There are various travel insurance options available to the customer, including, but not limited to:
Basic Insurance Options:
1. Bank Insurance (complimentary when paying for international air tickets using a bank issued credit card)
2. Bank Insurance - Top Up (additional insurance added on top of complimentary insurance)
3. Medical Aid - International Medical Insurance (offered through certain South African medical air providers)

Comprehensive Insurance Options:
4. Stand Alone Short-Term Travel Insurance (a standalone product that can be purchased independently through a registered insurance broker)
5. TIC (underwritten by Santam) or BRYTE (Bryte Insurance Company Limited) can be purchased through JACK TRAVEL (JACK TRAVEL & its associates act as an agent of the insurance company)

With any insurance product, it is the Customer's full responsibility to ensure that the full policy documents are read, understood and that any specific concerns are raised prior to the start of any international trip.

CUSTOMER PRIVACY POLICY

JACK TRAVEL shall take all reasonable steps to protect the personal information of users. For the purpose of this clause, "personal information" shall be defined as detailed in the Promotion of Access to Information Act 2 of 2000 (PAIA). Country of domicile

This website is governed by the laws of South Africa and JACK TRAVEL chooses as its domicilium citandi et executandi for all purposes under this agreement, whether in respect of court process, notice, or other documents or communication of whatsoever nature (Company Address).

 

Variation

JACK TRAVEL may, in its sole discretion, change this agreement or any part thereof at any time without notice.
